Givanas Cosmetics Nigeria Limited, a manufacturing company, is recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Demand Planner
Location: Lagos
Job Summary
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining accurate demand forecasts that drive inventory, procurement, and production decisions.
This role owns the rolling forecast process, analyzes historical sales data, market trends, and cross-functional input to build forecast models, and works closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to align on expected demand.
Responsibilities
Own and maintain the rolling forecast (the single source of truth for demand planning), including enforcing the 2-week change request window ahead of each monthly cycle.
Develop and maintain statistical demand forecasts at SKU, category, and aggregate levels across multiple time horizons, distinguishing consensus (quarterly) and operational (monthly rolling) forecast layers.
Analyze historical sales trends, seasonality, and market data to identify patterns affecting demand.
Lead the monthly demand review meeting, reconciling forecast input from Sales, Marketing, and Finance, and securing GM sign-off on forecast updates.
Track forecast accuracy and bias (e.g. MAPE), identifying structural causes of stockouts or overproduction and driving continuous improvement in forecasting methods.
Incorporate demand drivers promotions, new product launches, and product phase-outs into forecast models.
Forecast and track NPDs and EPDs as separate SKU lines, keeping them out of existing portfolio numbers until formally absorbed.
Apply the brand tiering framework to procurement buffers: Tier 1 (3-month PM buffer), Tier 2 (1-month PM buffer), Tier 3 (order as forecast requires, no buffer), scaling the PM lock horizon to each category's procurement lead time.
Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement to translate demand forecasts into inventory and replenishment plans.
Identify and escalate significant forecast variances or sudden demand spikes/supply constraints to the Supply Chain Manager, GM, Finance, and Logistics as risk to inventory availability or excess warrants.
Maintain and administer the rolling forecast Sheet and any ERP forecast modules, ensuring data integrity and version control.
Support the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process with forecast data and analysis.
Prepare and distribute regular demand planning reports and dashboards (Forecast vs Actual, accuracy trends, risk items) to management and stakeholders.
Translate demand forecasts into operational data for Master Production Schedulers and procurement teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or S&OP.
Experience with ERP and demand planning systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced spreadsheet-based forecasting tools.
Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and statistical/forecasting functions.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally.
