Our client is searching for a Cross-Platform Mobile App Developer to join their team in Pretoria (Hybrid). The duties for this role include, but are not limited to, designing, building, testing and maintaining software programs for web, mobile, or specific operating systems based on client and user requirements. Minimum Skills and Experience Proven experience developing cross-platform mobile applications using Ionic and Vue.js. Strong proficiency in TypeScript for application logic and backend development. Practical experience using Capacitor to build, configure and generate Android APKs. Sound knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and responsive mobile-interface design. Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and third-party services. Understanding of backend development, including API design, authentication, data validation and error handling. Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases. Familiarity with Android Studio, Android SDK configuration, application permissions, signing certificates, and release builds. Ability to troubleshoot build failures, plugin compatibility issues, and device-specific problems. Experience using Git or another source-control platform. Knowledge of mobile application security, secure data storage, and safe API communication. Experience with unit testing, debugging, performance optimisation and application maintenance. Understanding of the mobile application development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and version updates. Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an Agile development team. Advantageous Skills Experience with Node.js or a TypeScript-based backend framework such as NestJS. Experience generating Android App Bundles (AABs) and publishing applications to the Google Play Store. Knowledge of push notifications, biometric authentication, camera integration, geolocation and offline data synchronisation. Experience with automated build and deployment pipelines. Familiarity with application monitoring, analytics, and crash-reporting tools. Exposure to iOS application builds using Ionic, Vue and Capacitor. Minimum Qualification and Experience A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. At least three years’ software development experience, including practical mobile application development. A portfolio or examples of mobile applications developed using Ionic, Vue, TypeScript and Capacitor will be beneficial. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
