Our rapidly growing company require the services of Costing Estimator to turn client enquiries and drawings into accurate, well-priced quotations across mainly Solar PV & BESS. Working closely with the Sales & Technical teams to offer a superior service and final product.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and understand single line diagrams and site information to prepare quantity take-offs and generate Bill of Materials
- Handle correspondence (emails, calls, and letters) relating to planning and project progress
- Price materials, labour, travel and logistics, and build costed quotations
- Maintain pricelists, assemblies and our internal quote template
- Run supplier price enquiries and source new suppliers for best quality and prices
- Check scope and exclusions before quotes issued
- Compare quoted and actual costs on finished projects
- Other duties as directed to improve the products on offer
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Relevant Trade Certificate; N4/N5/N6 Diploma or Equivalent in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 yrs proven experience in electrical estimating or costing (specifically not only data capturing)
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask, work as a group or independently, attention to detail & precision
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of electrical components
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Solar PV and BESS experience will be an advantage
