ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an accomplished and strategic Head, Corporate Finance to provide leadership across the organisation's corporate finance function, driving financial strategy, capital planning, fundraising, investment analysis, treasury management, and corporate development initiatives.
The role will serve as a key advisor to executive management, supporting business growth through robust financial planning, capital allocation, strategic partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, investment structuring, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising the company's capital structure, enhancing shareholder value, and ensuring the availability of financial resources to support long-term business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate Finance Strategy
Develop and drive the organisation's corporate finance strategy, ensuring alignment with long-term business objectives, growth ambitions, and shareholder expectations.
Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, Executive Management, and Board on financial matters, investment decisions, and capital allocation priorities.
Lead enterprise-wide financial planning initiatives, including long-range business plans, growth scenarios, and strategic financial roadmaps.
Evaluate the financial implications of business decisions and provide recommendations to optimise value creation.
Identify opportunities to improve profitability, operational efficiency, and return on investment across the organisation.
Drive the financial assessment of new business models, products, services, and market expansion initiatives.
Fundraising & Capital Management
Develop and execute capital-raising strategies to support business growth, expansion projects, and strategic initiatives.
Lead engagements with banks, institutional investors, private equity firms, venture capital investors, development finance institutions, and other funding partners.
Structure and negotiate debt facilities, project financing arrangements, syndicated loans, and equity investments.
Prepare investment memoranda, financial presentations, and fundraising materials for investors and lenders.
Manage fundraising processes from initial discussions through due diligence, negotiations, documentation, and financial close.
Continuously assess capital requirements and funding options to support liquidity and future growth objectives.
Optimize the organization's capital structure by balancing debt, equity, and internal funding sources.
Investment Analysis & Corporate Development
Lead the evaluation of investment opportunities, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and new business ventures.
Develop complex financial models, valuation analyses, sensitivity assessments, and business cases to support investment decisions.
Conduct commercial, operational, and financial due diligence on potential investments and partnerships.
Assess project viability, investment returns, and associated risks to support executive decision-making.
Identify and evaluate opportunities for portfolio diversification and revenue expansion.
Support negotiations and transaction structuring for acquisitions, divestments, and strategic investments.
Monitor the performance of investments and provide recommendations to maximize returns.
Financial Planning & Performance Management
Oversee corporate budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management processes.
Develop financial models and scenario analyses to assess the impact of strategic decisions and market conditions.
Monitor key financial indicators and provide insights on performance against budget, forecasts, and strategic objectives.
Lead periodic business reviews with senior leadership to evaluate performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Establish performance dashboards and management reporting frameworks to support informed decision-making.
Drive initiatives to improve financial efficiency, productivity, and resource allocation.
Liquidity Management
Develop and implement strategies to ensure optimal liquidity and working capital management.
Oversee cash flow forecasting, funding requirements, and liquidity planning across the organisation.
Manage relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
Monitor foreign exchange exposure, interest rate risks, and other treasury-related risks.
Evaluate and implement strategies to improve cash utilisation and enhance financial flexibility.
Ensure adequate funding is available to support operational and investment activities.
Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary liaison with investors, lenders, financial institutions, and key funding partners.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective investors.
Lead investor presentations, funding discussions, and financial performance reviews.
Prepare board papers, investment reports, and executive presentations for strategic discussions.
Manage due diligence processes and information requests from investors and funding partners.
Enhance the organisation's credibility and reputation within the investment and financial community.
Risk Management & Governance
Partner with the Enterprise Risk Management team to identify and mitigate financial and investment-related risks.
Establish governance frameworks for investment approvals, capital allocation, and financial decision-making.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, lending covenants, and corporate governance requirements.
Develop and strengthen internal controls to safeguard company assets and financial resources.
Monitor macroeconomic trends, market developments, and regulatory changes that could impact the business.
Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development
Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that support business growth, funding access, and market expansion.
Lead commercial evaluations and negotiations for strategic alliances and joint ventures.
Assess partnership opportunities from financial, commercial, and risk perspectives.
Support the development of innovative financing structures and investment vehicles.
Drive initiatives that create long-term value and strengthen the organization's competitive position.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide leadership and direction to the Corporate Finance team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Build and develop a high-performing team with strong analytical, financial modeling, and strategic finance capabilities.
Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Mentor and coach team members, ensuring succession planning and talent development.
Drive the adoption of best practices in corporate finance, investment analysis, and financial management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
MBA, Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CPA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in Corporate Finance, Investment Banking, Private Equity, Financial Services, Treasury, or Strategic Finance.
Proven experience leading fundraising transactions, debt structuring, capital raising, and investment analysis.
Experience within financial services, real estate, mortgage finance, fintech, investment management, or related sectors is highly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of managing executive-level stakeholder relationships and strategic financial initiatives.
