Description

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist to provide specialist care in obstetrics and gynaecology, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of conditions affecting women's reproductive health.
  • The successful candidate will provide high-quality clinical services, supervise junior medical staff, and contribute to the continuous improvement of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological consultations and clinical care.
  • Manage antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal patients.
  • Diagnose and treat disorders affecting the female reproductive system.
  • Perform elective and emergency obstetric and gynaecological procedures and surgeries.
  • Conduct ward rounds and review patients' treatment plans.
  • Manage high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies.
  • Interpret diagnostic investigations and recommend appropriate treatment plans.
  • Supervise and mentor medical officers, resident doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical audits.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in continuous medical education, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MBChB) or equivalent qualification.
  • Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or the West African College of Surgeons (WACS) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Current practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of post-fellowship clinical experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex obstetric and gynaecological cases.
  • Experience in laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures will be an added advantage.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid annual practicing license.
  • Evidence of professional indemnity coverage (where applicable).
  • Strong commitment to quality patient care and clinical excellence.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including emergency call duties.
  • Good ethical conduct and adherence to professional standards.
  • Computer literacy and familiarity with electronic medical records will be an added advantage.
