REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health from Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) or any other recognized institution.
  • Have successfully completed one-year mandatory internship.
  • A Registration Certificate by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
  • A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
  • Proficiency in computer application skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform comprehensive oral examinations, analyze dental X-rays, and diagnose common dental conditions.
  • Execute procedures within your approved scope, such as dental restorations (fillings), simple non-surgical extractions, and oral prophylaxis.
  • Provide immediate pain management and basic emergency oral health services.
  • Identify complicated dental conditions and refer patients appropriately to specialized dental surgeons.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and rigorously uphold infection prevention and control standards
  • Counsel patients on proper oral hygiene practices, brushing/flossing techniques, and dietary habits.
  • Apply preventive treatments like fluoride applications and fissure sealants.
  • Organize and participate in community oral health outreaches, school dental health programs, and general wellness events.
  • Develop and implement initiatives designed to raise awareness about the prevention of oral diseases at the grassroots level.
  • Collect and analyze data on oral health indicators to assist local health authorities in developing targeted health initiatives
