Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cold Room Storekeeper to manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and ensure the proper storage and handling of goods within our cold room facility.
The ideal candidate must have experience in inventory management, stock documentation, and cold room storage operations.
Key Responsibilties
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery notes and purchase orders.
Ensure proper arrangement, storage, and preservation of goods under appropriate temperature conditions.
Maintain accurate inventory records of all items received, issued, and stored.
Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged goods, and discrepancies promptly.
Ensure proper stock rotation using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) method, as applicable.
Monitor cold room temperatures and promptly report any temperature fluctuations or equipment faults.
Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
Ensure proper labelling, identification, and traceability of stored goods.
Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety within the cold room and storage areas.
Prepare stock reports and maintain accurate documentation of inventory movements.
Coordinate with procurement, production, and other relevant departments to ensure efficient stock management.
Ensure compliance with established inventory control procedures, hygiene standards, and safety regulations.
Requirements
OND, HND, or equivalent qualification in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of relevant work experience in storekeeping, inventory management, or warehouse operations, preferably in a cold room or temperature-controlled storage environment.
Good knowledge of inventory control procedures, stock reconciliation, and documentation.
Understanding of FIFO/FEFO stock rotation methods.
Basic knowledge of cold room temperature monitoring and proper storage practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management systems.
Strong numerical, organisational, and record-keeping skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and maintain effective coordination with other departments.
