Clinton Health Access Initiative Associate, Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal and Newborn Health Jobs in Uganda;Reporting to the Senior Associate – Emergency Referral Systems, the Associate will support implementation and monitoring of activities to strengthen emergency referral systems for mothers and newborns in Uganda.The role involves conducting field assessments, collecting and analysing data, supporting facility and district engagement, and contributing to referral tools, training materials, and knowledge products.ResponsibilitiesProgram Management

Responsibilities

Drive execution of referral system activities against work plan objectives

Maintain trackers, field visit reports, and program documentation

Support preparation of program reports, quarterly reviews, and donor updates

Ensure effective documentation and file management

Participate in quarterly and annual review meetingsCommunication & Relationship Management

Build collaborative relationships with Ministry of Health, district teams, and facilities

Facilitate subnational government and partner relationships under guidance of Senior Associate

Coordinate partners to ensure synergies and avoid duplication

Provide updates and insights from field activities to CHAI internal team

Contribute to programmatic reports and dissemination of results

Represent CHAI at subnational engagements as assignedProblem-Solving

Collect and analyse field data and referral metrics to track progress

Develop insights and recommendations with Senior Associate guidance

Present findings to internal teams and stakeholders

Work with health workers and district teams to improve referral processesFinancial Accountability

Support budget planning and tracking under Senior Associate guidance

Ensure activities align with approved work and financial plans

Adhere to CHAI finance and operational policiesTechnical

Support design and implementation of referral protocols and communication systems

Conduct facility and community assessments to map referral pathways

Assist in developing and pretesting training materials and (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});tools

Facilitate training and mentorship sessions for health workers and district teams

Support facilities in implementing referral documentation systems

Assist in data entry, cleaning, and reporting into HMIS/DHIS2

Contribute to innovative approaches and documentation of best practicesQualificationsEducation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Nursing, Medicine, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, or related fieldExperience

At least 3 years’ experience in public health, health systems strengthening, or related field

Experience supporting complex projects with multiple stakeholdersSkills

Strong analytical skills with ability to present data clearly

Excellent communication and presentation skills

High emotional intelligence and adaptability under pressure

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

Ability to function independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlinesAdvantages

Advantages

Experience working with government officials at national and subnational levels

Familiarity with Uganda’s health system and HMIS/DHIS2 platforms

Knowledge of EmONC standards or community maternal and newborn health programs
