Job Summary
The Cleaner/Janitor will be responsible for ensuring that the bakery's production areas, offices, restrooms, customer spaces, and surrounding premises are kept clean and properly maintained.
The successful candidate must be attentive to detail, physically fit, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, particularly in a food production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clean and maintain the bakery's production areas, offices, restrooms, floors, and other designated spaces.
Sweep, mop, scrub, and sanitise floors, surfaces, and work areas regularly.
Ensure that bakery production areas are kept clean and hygienic in line with food safety standards.
Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, countertops, and other frequently used facilities.
Properly dispose of waste and ensure that rubbish bins are emptied regularly.
Clean windows, doors, shelves, furniture, and other surfaces as required.
Ensure that cleaning materials and supplies are properly stored and maintained.
Report any maintenance issues, damages, or hygiene concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
Follow established cleaning schedules and ensure all assigned tasks are completed promptly.
Assist with maintaining an organised and pleasant working environment.
Observe proper hygiene and safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Carry out other cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum of SSCE / WAEC or its equivalent.
Previous experience as a Cleaner, Janitor, or Housekeeper will be an advantage.
Knowledge of basic cleaning procedures and the proper use of cleaning materials.
Understanding of basic hygiene and sanitation practices.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Physically fit and able to perform routine cleaning duties.
Honest, reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
Good attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness consistently.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
Must be willing to work in a bakery/food production environment.
