Our client, an established organisation within the Short-Term Insurance industry, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Claims Manager to join their team based in Bellville / Tyger Valley, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing claims operations, ensuring efficient claims processing, maintaining regulatory compliance, and leading a high-performing claims team while delivering exceptional client service. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and oversee end-to-end short-term insurance claims operations. Lead, mentor and develop claims consultants and team leaders. Ensure accurate, efficient and timely claims assessment and settlement. Oversee complex claims, escalations, disputes and complaints. Monitor claims performance, turnaround times and service delivery standards. Ensure compliance with FAIS, relevant insurance legislation and internal policies. Manage relationships with brokers, assessors, service providers and insurers. Implement effective claims controls and fraud prevention measures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies. Prepare management reports and monitor departmental KPIs. Drive customer satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum 8 years'' experience in Short-Term Insurance claims, including claims management or supervisory experience. Relevant NQF Level 4 or 5 insurance qualification. Strong technical knowledge of commercial and/or personal lines claims. Proven experience managing claims teams and operational performance. Sound knowledge of insurance regulations and claims governance. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Excellent leadership, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
