Job Description

  • Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients.
  • Oversee food preparationin a timely manner whilst maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.
  • Ensure that all dishes are cooked well and presented in an aesthetically pleasing way.
  • Monitor and determine food stock and supplies need to be ordered.
  • Check the freshness of food and discard out-of-date items.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety.
  • Contribute to menu planning and special event preparations.
  • Ensure efficient kitchen operations and adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensure that guests are always receiving an exceptional dining experience representing true value for money.

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should possess an SSCE / HND / OND / B.Sc qualification
  • Proven work experience as a Chef with at least 3 years of experience in the field.
  • Specialized in Nigerian and Continental dishes.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes.
  • Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g. grillers, oven).
  • Familiarity with sanitation procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions strictly.
  • Having pastry/dessert making experience is an added advantage.
  • Qualification in Culinary Arts from an accredited culinary school is an added advantage.
  • Flexible schedule, willing to work shifts and weekends as required.
