Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager - Network Connectivity to drive revenue growth and develop new business opportunities within the network connectivity and telecommunications market.
  • The successful candidate will identify, develop and convert opportunities across Enterprise, Financial Services, Government, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, FMCG, SMEs and other strategic sectors.
  • The role requires strong expertise in B2B/enterprise sales, business development, consultative and solution selling, network connectivity solutions, strategic account management, commercial negotiation and relationship management.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to understand customers' connectivity requirements, collaborate with Technical/Presales teams to develop commercially viable solutions, engage senior decision-makers and convert qualified opportunities into profitable business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategies for the Network Connectivity portfolio in line with revenue and growth objectives.
  • Identify, qualify and convert new B2B and enterprise connectivity opportunities while maintaining a strong sales pipeline.
  • Generate revenue through prospecting, referrals, partnerships, networking and strategic account development.
  • Sell connectivity solutions including Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), broadband, point-to-point/point-to-multipoint connectivity, SD-WAN, MPLS, wireless and last-mile connectivity, managed connectivity, data centre/cloud connectivity, branch connectivity and network redundancy solutions.
  • Understand customers' business and technical requirements and work with Technical/Presales teams to develop solution designs, proposals, Bills of Quantities and commercial offers.
  • Develop and manage relationships with C-level executives, CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, Procurement Heads and other key decision-makers.
  • Conduct customer presentations, solution discussions, business reviews, commercial negotiations and contract discussions.
  • Develop strategic relationships with ISPs, telecom operators, technology vendors, infrastructure providers and other ecosystem partners.
  • Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify emerging opportunities, pricing trends and new customer segments.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation and qualification through proposal, negotiation and closure.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, pipeline reports, opportunity stages and revenue projections.
  • Prepare commercial proposals, quotations and business cases while protecting approved pricing and gross margins.
  • Collaborate with Technical, Presales, Procurement, Finance, Projects and Operations teams to ensure effective delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Support account receivables management and timely collection in collaboration with Finance and other relevant teams.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed assigned revenue and gross margin targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in Business Development, Enterprise Sales or B2B Technology Sales, preferably within Telecommunications, ISP, ICT or Network Infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience selling network connectivity, telecommunications or enterprise ICT solutions.
  • Proven track record of achieving significant B2B sales and revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of the Nigerian telecommunications and connectivity market.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles.
  • Strong experience in preparing commercial proposals and negotiating enterprise contracts.
  • Good understanding of consultative and solution-based selling.
  • Existing relationships with enterprise customers within Financial Services, Government, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, FMCG and large corporates will be an advantage.
