We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven, and results-oriented Business Development Manager - Electronics to drive revenue, gross profit, market growth, and overall business development within the electronics division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing corporate and B2B accounts, strengthening relationships with electronics brands and distributors, expanding market opportunities, and driving sustainable revenue growth.
The role will cover product categories including televisions and home entertainment, audio products, refrigerators and freezers, air conditioners, washing machines, kitchen appliances, gaming and entertainment electronics, smart-home products, and related accessories.
- Develop and execute business development strategies for the electronics category.
- Identify new markets, customer segments, sales channels, and revenue opportunities.
- Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual sales growth.
- Develop new corporate, institutional, wholesale, and strategic accounts.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Identify opportunities for bulk purchases, projects, institutional contracts, and large-scale supply arrangements.
- Develop relationships with corporate organisations, hotels, schools, hospitals, real estate companies, government institutions, and other major buyers.
- Identify large-scale electronics supply and installation opportunities.
- Prepare proposals and commercial offers for major customers.
- Build relationships with procurement managers, facility managers, project managers, and senior decision-makers.
- Develop recurring B2B business and long-term customer relationships.
- Develop and maintain relationships with leading electronics manufacturers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Negotiate competitive pricing, rebates, credit terms, marketing support, and volume incentives within approved company policies.
- Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships, promotions, exclusive products, and distribution arrangements.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure agreed commercial commitments are delivered.
- Monitor market trends and identify high-growth electronics categories.
- Recommend new products and brands based on customer demand and market opportunities.
- Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, product launches, and market activities.
- Recommend competitive pricing strategies while protecting company margins.
- Analyse sales, pricing, discounts, and category profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve gross margins and overall category performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
- Drive repeat purchases and long-term customer relationships.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop category-specific campaigns and promotional activities.
- Monitor product availability and identify potential stock shortages.
- Identify slow-moving and ageing inventory and recommend strategies to improve stock turnover.
- Work closely with Procurement, Marketing, Finance, Retail, and Operations teams to achieve business objectives.
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, business development activities, market opportunities, customer acquisition, and pipeline performance.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 - 8 years' experience in business development, sales, consumer electronics, home appliances, retail, distribution, or FMCG-related sectors.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue and gross-profit targets.
- Experience managing key accounts and B2B customers.
- Experience working with major electronics brands and distributors is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian electronics market.
- Strong knowledge of consumer electronics and home appliances.
- Excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Strong understanding of pricing, margins, and commercial terms.
