Key Responsibilities
Direct monthend and yearend financial closing processes to produce timely and accurate financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
Oversee general ledger accounts, reconciliation processes and journal entries to ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulatory guidelines.
Audit transactions across departments to maintain data integrity across accounting systems and ERP software.Cash Flow Management & Treasury Operations
Monitor daily cash flows, perform banking reconciliations and manage working capital to optimize liquidity.
Supervise Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions, enforcing aging limits and credit control policies.
Oversee payroll processing, statutory deductions and vendor disbursement schedules.Taxation, Compliance & Audits
Ensure full compliance with Kenyan statutory tax obligations (NSSF, SHA, PAYE, withholding taxes).
Lead external and internal audit processes, serving as primary liaison for auditors, tax authorities and regulators.
Establish and maintain strong internal financial controls to safeguard assets and mitigate risks.Budgeting & Cost Control
Assist executive leadership in preparing annual budgets, (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});departmental operating models and forecasts.
Perform monthly variance analyses comparing actual costs against budgeted targets, highlighting areas for cost reduction.
Monitor equipment, inventory and capital expenditures in coordination with operations and procurement leads.Key Qualifications & Competencies
Key Qualifications & Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Professional accounting certification (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) required.
Minimum four (4) to six (6) years of progressive accounting experience, with at least two (2) to three (3) years in a senior accountant, finance manager or chief accountant role.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Sage, QuickBooks or SAP), plus advanced Microsoft Excel.
Expert knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, financial reporting regulations, internal control frameworks and budget management.
