We are seeking a skilled and proactive Biomedical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of medical equipment and supporting the maintenance, troubleshooting, and management of biomedical devices across the hospital.
Responsibilities
Install, inspect, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair medical and biomedical equipment.
Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on medical equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment faults and coordinate repairs where necessary.
Ensure medical equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards and regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, calibration, and service history.
Conduct routine inspections and performance checks on biomedical equipment.
Liaise with equipment vendors and service providers for repairs, servicing, installation, and technical support.
Provide technical support and guidance to clinical staff on the proper use and handling of medical equipment.
Participate in the procurement, installation, commissioning, and evaluation of new medical equipment.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend replacement or upgrades where necessary.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies, health and safety standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.
Support the development and implementation of preventive maintenance schedules.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng./B.Sc.) in Biomedical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
Relevant professional certification or registration will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in biomedical engineering, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
Experience in the maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair of medical equipment is required.
Experience working with medical equipment vendors and service providers is an added advantage.
