Assistant Software Development Lead

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications, APIs, databases and system integrations.
• Support the development and improvement of ERP systems.
• Mentor junior developers, allocate tasks and monitor delivery.
• Conduct code reviews and enforce coding, testing, documentation and security standards.
• Resolve system defects, performance issues and data-integrity risks.
• Manage deployments, servers, Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Develop automated unit, feature and end-to-end tests.

Required Skills

• PHP and Laravel 11+
• Vue 3, JavaScript, HTML and CSS
• MySQL and PostgreSQL
• REST APIs and third-party integrations
• Linux, Ubuntu, Nginx, PHP-FPM and Supervisor
• Git, GitHub Actions and CI/CD
• Cypress, Playwright or Laravel Dusk
• Application security, database optimisation and multi-tenant architecture

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related field.
• Experience developing or supporting ERP or enterprise systems.
• Experience mentoring or supervising junior developers.
• Strong understanding of the software-development lifecycle.
• Willingness to relocate to and work from Kakamega.
