Assistant Manager, Security Operations And Risk At Nile University Of Nigeria

We are currently looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Assistant Manager, Security Operations and Risk with strong personal & professional integrity to join our dynamic team.

Responsibilities

• The Assistant Manager, Security Operations & Risk is responsible for supporting the effective management of the University\'s security operations and institutional risk management activities.
• He/She is to ensure that security threats, operational risks, vulnerabilities and incidents are proactively identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored to protect students, employees, visitors, facilities, information, assets and the University\'s reputation.
• Support the planning, coordination and monitoring of day-to-day security operations across the University and ensure effective deployment of security personnel across academic, administrative, residential and recreational facilities.
• Monitor security posts, patrols, access points and other critical areas to ensure adequate coverage and coordinate security arrangements for examinations, events, conferences, ceremonies and other high-risk or high-traffic activities.
• Ensure compliance with security SOPs, post orders and operational procedures and identify operational gaps and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct periodic security and operational risk assessments across university facilities, processes and activities identifying threats, vulnerabilities and potential impacts to students, staff, visitors, assets and University operations.
• Develop risk mitigation and treatment plans for identified risks and monitoring the implementation of risk mitigation actions and escalate overdue or critical actions.
• Assess security risks associated with new projects, facilities, events, contractors and operational changes and provide management with regular updates on emerging security risks and recommended mitigation strategies.
• Support the development of risk assessment methodologies, tools and frameworks.
• Lead or support investigations into theft, vandalism, unauthorised access, threats, disturbances, accidents and other security-related incidents and coordinate the University\'s initial security response to incidents, emergencies and crises.
• Coordinate and monitor the maintenance of all female hostel buildings, ensuring that the physical condition, functionality, safety, and general upkeep of the facilities are maintained to acceptable institutional standards.
• Ensure incidents are accurately documented, investigated and appropriately escalated and conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and preventive actions.
• Identify maintenance defects, facility deterioration, safety concerns, and other issues requiring corrective or preventive maintenance.
• Track corrective and preventive actions arising from incidents, identifying recurring incidents and developing strategies to reduce their occurrence and maintain an incident database for trend analysis and management reporting.
• Support crisis communication and escalation procedures in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and ensure relevant personnel understand their roles during emergencies.
• Supervise and monitor the performance of security personnel, coordinate duty rosters, deployment schedules and shift coverage, and support performance management and disciplinary processes where necessary.
