Assistant Manager

Misan & Co·Lagos, Nigeria·Full Time·Part-time
Hospitalityentry-levelFull TimePart-time
-Closes Oct 20, 2026

Misan & Co. began with a simple observation, that the best nights of our lives rarely happen in halls. They happen in houses. So we made one. Rooms sized for real conversation, light we designed the day around, and a table long enough for everyone who matters and short enough that nobody sits alone. Every surface here was chosen to be touched.

We host one gathering at a time. That is the whole philosophy. It means the house is entirely yours, that our concierge learns your names, and that when the last guest leaves at two in the morning, nobody is asking you to hurry.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Assistant Manager

Location: Palmgrove, Lagos Employment Type: Full-time (Onsite)

The Role

The Assistant Manager supports the Hospitality Operations Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the daily operational standards of Misan & Co.

This is a hands-on role requiring close attention to the condition of our spaces, the readiness of each event and the comfort of every guest.

You will coordinate preparations, supervise housekeeping and event support staff, guide vendors and ensure that agreed arrangements are executed accurately and on time.

Before each booking, you will review the event brief, inspect the space and confirm that furniture, equipment, supplies and service arrangements are ready.

During events, you will remain available to guests, anticipate their needs and address routine issues promptly, escalating matters that require the Manager’s approval.

The role also includes inventory checks, equipment care, incident reporting, post-event inspections and ensuring that spaces are cleaned, reset and secured after use.

You will be expected to identify problems early, follow tasks through to completion and maintain standards when the Manager is absent.

Success in this role means events run smoothly, guests feel thoughtfully cared for and routine operations are handled reliably without constant founder intervention.

Responsibilities

Carry out daily opening, readiness and closing checks across our spaces.

Inspect cleanliness, toilets, furniture, supplies and equipment; ensure shortcomings are corrected before guests arrive.

Review event briefs and prepare layouts, service items, equipment and staffing requirements.

Coordinate the Housekeeper, event support staff and vendors during setup, service and breakdown.

Welcome guests, anticipate their needs and resolve routine requests promptly and courteously.

Monitor guest comfort, event timings and service quality throughout each booking.

Escalate complaints, delays, safety concerns and requests outside your authority to the Manager.

Track inventory, consumables and equipment condition; report shortages, damage and maintenance needs.

Complete post-event inspections, incident records and operational handovers.

Ensure every space is cleaned, reset and secured after use.

Support booking administration and client follow-up as assigned.

Maintain agreed standards when the Manager is absent.

Requirements

At least 1 year relevant experience in hospitality, venue operations or event coordination.

Experience supervising staff and coordinating vendors.

Strong organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.

Warm, professional communication and sound judgement under pressure.

Ability to use checklists, spreadsheets and basic reporting tools.

Willingness to assist practically with setup and service.

Availability for on-site work, weekend events and scheduled evening duties.
