Assistant Director Planning And Strategy

Job Specifications:

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;

• Coordinating the development of the Laboratory's Corporate strategy and monitoring its implementation;
• Spearheading cascading of the performance contracting and communicating corporate strategy;
• Analyzing key performance indicators for the formulation of plans, programs and activities aligned to the corporate Mission and Governmental priorities;
• Coordinating the performance contracting process;
• Aligning functional units with corporate strategy and relevant governmental policies;
• Coordinating periodic strategy review in line with operating business environmental and needs of the Laboratory;
• Coordinating periodical analysis to advise management and recommend actions to improve the Laboratory's value proposition;
• Advising Management on Strategic Partnerships and collaborations for resource mobilization;
• Overseeing preparation of periodic reports to relevant Government departments and Agencies;
• Providing guidance on preparation of departmental, division plans and budget;
• Coordinating development and Implementation of a Corporate Business Continuity Plan (BCP).

Person specifications:

• Cumulative service period of twelve (12) years relevant work experience, three (3) of which should have been at the grade of Principal Planning Officer or in a comparable position;
• Bachelor degree in any of the following fields: Economics, Statistics,
• Strategic Management, Business Development, Development Studies and Business Administration or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Master's degree in any of the following field: Economics, Statistics, Strategic Management, Business Development, Development Studies and Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;
• Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution;
• At least two weeks Certificate in Project Management or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Monitoring & Evaluation or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution;
• Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable: and
• Proficiency in computer applications.
