Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Artificial Intelligence / Computer Vision Engineer role based in Nigeria. The engineer will design, develop, and deploy AI and computer vision models that enhance the platform’s ability to recognize patterns, interpret visual data, and automate decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include researching and prototyping new algorithms, building and training models on relevant datasets, and optimizing these models for performance and scalability in production. The role also involves collaborating with product, engineering, and design teams to translate business needs into technical solutions, integrating models into the platform, and monitoring system performance. The engineer will document workflows, participate in code reviews, and contribute to continuous improvement of the AI-powered transaction experience.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Data Science, including algorithms, data structures, statistics, and machine learning.
- Hands-on experience with Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition for tasks such as object detection, image classification, and feature extraction.
- Knowledge of Robotics or automation systems, and their integration with AI and perception modules.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in AI (e.g., Python, C++), and experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or OpenCV.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience deploying models to production environments, working with APIs, and optimizing runtime performance.
- Ability to work on-site in Nigeria, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, MLOps practices, and real-time data processing is an advantage.
