Job Summary
The Aesthetic Doctor provides expert consultation and executes advanced non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
This role balances absolute medical clinical safety with an artistic eye for facial harmonyperforming neurotoxin injections, dermal filler augmentations, chemical peels, and advanced energy-based device therapies.
The ideal candidate is responsible for delivering top-tier clinical outcomes, prevent complications, manage patient transformations transparently, and drive the commercial growth and reputation of the aesthetic clinic.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate patients' facial anatomy, skin types (heavily focusing on hyperpigmentation risks on darker skin phenotypes/Fitzpatrick scales V-VI), and medical histories to identify aesthetic deficiencies or contraindications.
Screen clients subtly for signs of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), managing treatment choices ethically rather than over-treating vulnerable clients.
Formulate comprehensive, multi-session aesthetic treatment plans, detailing expected down-times, maintenance intervals, and financial estimates.
Safely administer advanced neuromodulators (e.g., Botox, Dysport) and dermal fillers (hyaluronic acid and biostimulators) for wrinkle reduction, lip plumping, jawline contouring, and facial volume restoration.
Operate advanced medical laser systems (e.g., Nd:YAG, Pico lasers), Intense Pulsed Light (IPL), High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU), and radiofrequency platforms for skin resurfacing, tightening, and tattoo removal.
Execute medical-grade chemical peels, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) microneedling therapies, and target-driven mesotherapy injections for skin glow, acne scar revision, and hair restoration.
Act as the ultimate clinical authority on-site, immediately identifying and treating adverse reactions such as vascular occlusions, severe allergic responses, or laser burns.
Maintain accurate, encrypted electronic health records tracking batch numbers, injection sites, unit counts, and post-op protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent degree from a university accredited by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) medical practitioner qualification.
Mandatory full registration and a current, valid annual practicing license issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
A Master's degree (MSc), Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip), or formal Fellowship in Aesthetic Medicine, Dermatology, or Cosmetic Medicine from an accredited international or domestic institution is an added advantage.
2 - 5+ years of progressive hands-on experience working exclusively as an aesthetic doctor within a reputable medical spa, dermatology center, or cosmetic clinic.
Proven track record handling advanced dermal filler layering, advanced laser wavelengths, and managing clinical complications independently.
