Job Description

Key Requirements

• 3 - 5 years' experience in an accounting or financial accounting role.
• Strong experience with general ledger, reconciliations, journals, and financial reporting.
• Good knowledge of VAT, tax, debtors, creditors, and month-end processes.
• Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting or ERP systems.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and financial integrity.
• Ability to work independently and meet strict financial deadlines.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and accounting procedures.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
• Prepare and process journals, reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
• Manage debtors, creditors, cashbook, and banking transactions.
• Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Prepare VAT and other statutory financial requirements.
• Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor financial controls and ensure accounting procedures are followed.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis where required.
• Prepare supporting documentation for audits and provide information to auditors.
• Ensure all accounting records are accurate, complete, and up to date.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• B.Com Accounting or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Professional accounting studies such as CIMA, ACCA, or SAICA will be advantageous.
• 3 - 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Practical experience with financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Good knowledge of accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledge of South African VAT and statutory accounting requirements.
• Availability to start immediately.
• Permanent, full-time position.
