Description / SynopsisA leading international freight and logistics company, based in Kempton Park is seeking an ambitious Accountant to join their finance team. The role will report to the Finance Manager, and will support broader financial accounting, accounts payable and international reporting requirements, including reporting to global offices.Minimum Requirements
BCom Accounting degree
Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles OR 3 years’ experience in an Accountant role
Experience/exposure to creditors/accounts payable functions
Experience in a multinational environment would be beneficial
Advanced Excel skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Assist with monthly management accounts and month-end processes
Assist with compilation of Annual Financial Statements (AFS) in line with applicable accounting standards
Perform detailed accounts payable reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of supplier balances
Vet supplier invoices and supporting documentation for compliance with internal controls and VAT
Oversee the full AP process, including allocations and supplier query resolution
Process bank transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations
Support trial balance preparation, account balance reviews and reconciliations
Assist with cash flow monitoring, allocations and reporting
Prepare and maintain balance sheet and P&L allocations
Support international reporting requirements, including reporting to global offices
Maintain and improve Excel-based systems, including automation and AI-assisted tools
Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues through detailed review and analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
High integrity and professional judgement
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills, including supplier and international stakeholder liaison
Proactive, organised, deadline-driven
