Accountant: Budget And Reporting

SALARY SCALE :

• R487 410 - R607 251 p.a. (excluding benefits)

TERM OF APPOINTMENT: PERMANENT

LOCATION: MIDDELBURG, MPUMALANGA (MP313)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 plus National Diploma/ B Degree in Financial Accounting/ Cost and Management Accounting/ Local Governance Finance/ Public Finance Management and Administration or relevant equivalent qualification (NQF 6). 3-5 years relevant experience in Municipal Budgeting environment. Applicant must have experience in Cost Accounting Budgeting and Section 71 reporting. Certificate in MFMP/CPMD, Candidates who are not in a possession of the MFMP/CPMD Certificate will be given an opportunity to obtain such certificate within 18 months if appointed. Computer literacy (Ms Office) especially advanced Excel. Valid code B driver's license.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Preparing and capturing budget virements. Handling of all grants payments. Monthly reconciliation and balancing of allgrants received. Budget control to ensure votes do not overspend. Preparing monthly and quarterly reports for council and submission to relevant Provincial and National Treasury. Weekly reporting on Budget expenditure patterns. Assist with compilation of annual/ adjustment budgets and midyear assessment/ annual report
