KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the property.
  • Record and reconcile daily income from room bookings, accommodation, services, and other revenue streams.
  • Monitor and track expenses, purchases, petty cash, and operational payments.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports and management accounts.
  • Perform bank, cash, and payment reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and settlement of invoices.
  • Review invoices, receipts, payment requests, and supporting documentation for accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Monitor revenue collections and ensure all income is properly recorded and accounted for.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management for the property.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records and supporting documents.
  • Monitor financial transactions across departments and ensure compliance with established financial procedures.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and related financial documentation where required.
  • Prepare schedules and information required for audits, tax filings, and statutory compliance.
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, banks, and other relevant parties on financial matters.
  • Identify financial discrepancies, irregularities, or control gaps and escalate them appropriately.
  • Provide financial insights and reports to management to support operational and business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree/HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as **ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent** is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within hospitality, serviced apartments, hotels, real estate, or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with hospitality/property management systems is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and expense monitoring.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve financial issues promptly.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with management and other departments.
