We are  recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Account Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Description

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organised Account Officer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial and accounting records.
  • Record and process daily financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses.
  • Prepare and maintain ledgers, journals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely settlement and collection.
  • Assist with budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and financial forecasting.
  • Monitor company expenses and ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Prepare invoices, payment schedules, and other financial documentation.
  • Support payroll processing and other finance-related administrative activities when required.
  • Assist with tax computations, statutory filings, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records for audit purposes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and provide required financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Identify discrepancies, financial risks, and control weaknesses and escalate appropriately.
  • Provide financial information and administrative support to management when required.
  • Perform other accounting and finance-related duties assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN/ACCA is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in an Oil & Gas, Engineering, Construction, or corporate environment is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Good understanding of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with accounting software/ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
